Hold up, did I just spot a zombie Cillian Murphy? Also, are the zombies in this one actually zombies now? One of the major distinctions of the 28 Days Later franchise was the scary fast, scary scary, and very much NOT undead hordes of people. It’s time for another chapter from Danny Boyle.
The first one is fantastic, I recently rewatched it during my Halloween Horrors Month-Long-Marathon. It held up every bit as well as it did when I watched it in theatre 22 years ago. (That’s right, it actually hasn’t been 28 years since the first movie, but close enough to make a nearly-40-year-old choke on his coffee.)
The second film, 28 Weeks Later, is also great – but certainly less indie cinema horror and more North American action/horror. So far I can’t quite get a read on this third chapter, but it does seem to be marrying aspects of both entries so far.
Will you be watching 28 Years Later in June?
