A 7-year-old boy in China who had complained of a bad smell for two years was found to have a metal screw lodged in his left nostril. His parents initially dismissed his claims, but after his complaints increased, they took him to a doctor. A CT scan revealed a black mass deep in his nasal cavity. Doctors carefully removed the object, which turned out to be a metal screw covered in pus and nasal secretions. After the surgery, the boy fully recovered and no longer experienced the bad smell.
