“Bees Swarm Firefighters Battling Blazing California Wildfire”

California’s Modesto Fire Department found themselves in a buzzing situation while battling a vegetation fire in Stanislaus County. As if the flames weren’t enough, crews faced a second swarm of trouble—thousands of bees fleeing the blaze decided to make their trucks a temporary hive.

According to a social media post, firefighters from Oakdale and Knights Ferry teamed up with CAL FIRE Tuolumne-Calaveras Unit to tackle the fire along Sonora Road. But instead of just battling the flames, they were swarmed by bees escaping their burning boxes, creating quite the sticky situation.

Photos shared by the department show the trucks covered in bees, making an already challenging firefight even more un-bee-lievable. While several firefighters were stung, thankfully no serious injuries were reported.

To shoo away the stingers, the crew got creative and used water to gently encourage the buzzing invaders to move along. Bee-lieve it or not, this firefight was one for the hive history books!
