Engineer, Youtuber, and laser enthusiast Mark Rober released a new video taking on the self-navigating technology of Tesla cars alongside a few other models with self-driving or collision-avoidance tech.

The video gets into all of the details, but essentially it’s cameras-only (like in the case of Tesla cars) vs more expensive but more reliable technology like lidar. And what happens when you pit these cars against a battery of visibility-augmenting tests like a giant foam wall mocked up to look just like the road beyond it? You start to realize that Teslas may essentially have the intelligence of Wile E Coyote.
