No one invited Gene Simmons to comment on a Smiths reunion, but of course, he jumped in—and delivered exactly the attitude you’d expect!

Gene Simmons of KISS chimed in on The Smiths reunion drama, and his advice was, well, very rock ‘n’ roll. After Morrissey claimed Johnny Marr ignored a hefty offer to reunite for a 2025 tour, Simmons suggested a simple fix: “Just swap out the guitar player! No one cares who’s playing as long as the songs are good.” Ouch! He also called turning down big money “crazy,” comparing it to missing out on football-level paydays.

Morrissey added fuel to the fire by revealing that Marr also blocked a ‘Greatest Hits’ album and a re-release of their debut single, “Hand In Glove.” Meanwhile, Simmons, always the business-savvy rocker, noted that record labels are about making money, not being social justice warriors, and Morrissey shouldn’t be surprised by industry politics.

Simmons wrapped up his thoughts with a reassuring nudge to Morrissey: “Don’t worry, he’ll be fine—his rent’s paid, and there’s food on the table.” Classic Simmons, keeping it blunt and cheeky!
